Protecting our Patients from Coronavirus

Important Notice: Effective Friday, March 20, 2020, Performance Vision Care will be scaling back services and schedules including suspending routine care for patients. We will remain open for patients who have urgent eye care needs. If possible, please come for any appointments alone.

We are also going to offer curbside pickup ONLY for eyeglass pick-ups. We can also ship your eyeglasses to you at no additional charge. We understand that this can be viewed as an inconvenience, but it is also a necessary precaution in order to stay open for any services at this time. We will be suspending routine adjustments until further notice.

We are only allowing patients that have an appointment with the doctor into the office.

This is a fluid situation for all of us and changes can be made at any time. Please check here for updates.

Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Protecting our Patients from Coronavirus Disease Outbreak

Making sure our patients and staff are safe is our top priority. While the risk of getting the COVID-19 in the US is currently low, we know many patients are concerned about the spread of Coronavirus.

Our Promise to Our Patients:

We understand the obvious concern that coronavirus has brought to the area. We want to make you aware of the steps we are taking to protect our patients and team members in this time of uncertainty.

At this time Performance Vision Care will be open by appointment only.

This applies to eye exams as well as eyewear pick-ups and adjustments. We are trying to limit the amount of people in the office at one time following the “social distancing” recommendations. If you can come alone, we’d appreciate your cooperation

All contact lens orders will be shipped at no charge to all patients ordering. If you are running low, please order as soon as possible to avoid running out.

If you need a repair, please call our office first and we will advise on if we need to order parts to avoid multiple trips.

For routine adjustments, please use common sense on the need currently.

All eyeglass patients can request no charge shipping of your glasses at this time.

Please call us with any questions or concerns, and if you feel it best for you or your family member to reschedule your appointment, feel free to do so.

We do expect this to be an ongoing situation in our area for an extended period of time, and do not want our patients to neglect their eye care needs during this time. We will continue to give recommendations based on the evidence we have on safe delivery of eye care in a time of uncertainty.

We request the following of patients:

If you have traveled in the last 14 days to a country other than the U.S. where coronavirus has been diagnosed, please call the office to reschedule your appointment at least 14 days from now.

If you have any symptoms that mimic that of the coronavirus, which includes a fever or respiratory symptoms, including a cough, please call and reschedule your appointment at least 14 days from now.

If you suspect that you have had direct contact with people who have been around any of the people who have tested positive for the coronavirus, please call us to reschedule your visit beyond 14 days from now.

Remember to follow basic hygiene guidelines to avoid the spread of germs, which includes washing your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.

Our staff will also follow these guidelines and will not be present at work if they exhibit any of the above-mentioned symptoms:

Any eye doctor or team member who is sick is staying home

We sanitize every piece of equipment after each use and again at the end of the day (as part of our precautions we always adhere to).

We will sanitize all patient contact surfaces between every patient with medical grade disinfectant.

We have hand sanitizer available for patient use in our office as well as areas they can wash their hands.

Our team washes their hands often throughout the day

If we don’t shake hands with our patients during this time, please don’t take it personally.

For the most up-to-date information on treatments, FAQs, news and more, please visit the following official health organizations:

Thank you for helping us to protect ALL of our patients.

Due to Covid-19 recommendations, our practices will remain closed through 05/03/2020. We do not make this decision lightly, however our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and community.

Our online scheduler is available to schedule routine vision exams in May.

In the case of emergency situations, we WILL have a doctor on call. Please call the office and your message will be returned by your doctor within the hour.

If you are waiting on an eyeglass order, we will contact you to arrange curbside pick-up after we receive them.

Patients are encouraged to stock up on contact lenses and supplies here. Most contact lens orders can be delivered to your homes.

We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and the guidance from the county, state and the CDC to determine when it is appropriate for us to return to our normal business hours.

We thank you for your patience during this challenging time and wish all of you continued health.

Sincerely,

Dr. Dan Uzl, Dr. Ryan Zimmerman, & the staff at Performance Vision Care
